Denmark, US, and Caribbea –May 7, 2007 – Murphy International Development Corporation (MIDC), www.murphyintldev.com, is pleased to announce that one of its investment portfolio companies, Norwin A/S and Norwin America LLC, its Wind Turbine Manufacturing business’ with principle facilities in Roskilde, Denmark, www.norwin.dk and www.norwinna.com, has received an order for wind turbine(s) in the Caribbean.

The Dominica eco-tour local resort owner has selected the Norwin 225 kw wind turbine as part of its renewable energy hybrid system. The hybrid system includes the Norwin WTG and includes photovoltaic and diesel generators. Together the hybrid system allows the resort to generate all its power requirements and sell surplus electricity back to the local utility.

The hybrid system is based on standard Norwin A/S wind turbines and traditional diesel generator sets fitted with wind/solar/diesel control and monitoring equipment, which together comprise a complete hybrid stand alone power system for automatic and continuous power supply.

The diesel generator set is an integrated part of the control system. The system itself controls the grid and any number of standard wind turbines up to as much as twice of the capacity of the diesel generator with constant power quality. Using standard components and well-known technology for all the important functions has resulted in a simple, robust and extremely reliable system, which is easy to operate and maintain. The hybrid system is ideal for operation in isolated and remote areas with wind conditions suitable for wind turbines.

An Investment In The Future
The Hybrid system operates with high wind penetration. With an optimal combination of wind turbines, solar and diesel generator sets, diesel back up only becomes necessary when there is little or no wind and sun.

High wind penetration combined with high efficiency of the system gives a fuel saving in the range of 50 - 90%. In this way, a complete wind/solar/diesel power system with annual wind penetration higher than 50 - 60% has lower kWh price than similar traditional diesel power systems.

The complete wind/diesel power system is a highly competitive alternative to traditional diesel power systems.
